Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture, Japan | Winter 2018
2 years in Japan I've never been to a snowy place especially just to visit (or to take photos), so visiting Kusatsu Onsen was quite special. At first I didn't set any expectations on how good/bad the place is going to be, because most websites that has informations about Kusatsu Onsen is quite poor. Either the images are too small, or that they're only taken during summer time. In the end I was quite surprised and at awe when I got there. I think it's also best to stay the night to enjoy the place a lot better as the view will actually look quite magical.
I'm still quite of a noob when it comes to winter photography - especially how to handle the settings when the weather is poor. It was pretty snowy and hard to take photos as not only it was freezing cold, and I can't control my camera with the gloves on. The other factor that I found difficult was the amount of snow that get onto the camera, so I ended up trying to protect the camera from the snow and brushing off the snow before I got into a warmer area. I learnt from this journey and I think I'd know what to do in the future - such as getting a rain cover to protect the camera, and get a waterproof (while keeping my hands warm) gloves.
